🍎 Taste the fruits of our labor 🍎

Apples featured in the fruit stand this week.

𝗞𝗶𝗱𝗱’𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗱
A cross between Cox Orange Pippin and Fred Delicious. The visual appeal is matched by the taste. The skin is thin and the flesh is a light yellow-cream colour, and quite dense. It bites cleanly, but is firm rather than crunchy. The flavour is sweet and honeyed, noticeably sweeter than Cox’s Orange Pippin.

𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗽
One of the most popular eating apples in the USA. The flavour is sweet with very little trace of acidity and little depth or complexity. There can also be a trace of pear-drop flavour.

𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻
Developed in 1920s Upstate New York, this gaslighting flirt deceptively charms the unsuspecting and lonesome with its ultra-thin skin, complex berry-like flavor and solid crunch present when picked at peak freshness directly from a tree.

𝗢𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁
The cream-colored flesh is crunchy and moderately juicy. The taste is sweet balanced with tart, with undertones of strawberry, pineapple, and floral notes such as lilac.

𝗛𝘂𝗱𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗺
Excellent eating apple. Large conical and elongated fruit. Dull yellow russet skin. Crisp, sugary flesh with nutty flavor.
